Wash & Care Routine

German silver can maintain its brilliant shine for years with the right care. Since it does not contain actual silver, it requires specific handling to prevent tarnishing.

1. Regular Cleaning

• 
  Soft Wipe: After every use, wipe the Samai with a dry, soft microfiber cloth to remove oil residue and dust.
  
• 
  Mild Soap: If the lamp gets oily, wash it gently with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild, non-citrus dish soap. Use a soft sponge; avoid abrasive scrubbers which can scratch the finish.
  

2. Restoring Shine

  The Paste Method: Use a specialized metal polish or a simple paste of baking soda and water. Apply gently, let it sit for a minute, and rinse thoroughly.
  
• 
  Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use vinegar, lemon, or strong detergents, as the acid can corrode the plating.
  

3. Proper Storage

• 
  Keep it Dry: Ensure the Samai is completely bone-dry before storing. Moisture is the main cause of tarnishing.
  
• 
  Air-Tight: When not in use, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth or acid-free tissue paper and store it in an airtight container or a zip-lock bag to minimize exposure to air.
